The Anhui Museum ( Chinese 安徽 博物院 , Pinyin Ānhuī Bówùyuàn ) is located in the provincial capital Hefei and is the only 1st class state museum in Anhui . Founded in 1956 as a provincial museum, it is one of the first museums in the People's Republic of China and was then one of the four models of its kind nationwide.
A special feature of the exhibition is to experience 3000 years of culture and 200 million years of nature in one house.
The museum opens Tuesday to Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (no entrance after 4 p.m.). From 2008, entry to the permanent exhibition will be free.
