Anja Lenßen

Anja Lenßen (born August 23, 1971 in Wuppertal ) is a German theater actress .

Life

From 1993 to 1996 Lenßen graduated from the drama school Theaterwerkstatt Mainz and obtained the drama diploma with stage maturity. During the training she played in 1995 at the State Theater in Wiesbaden , the Lizzie and the Archangel Raphael in the performance of Goethe's Faust. After further guest appearances at the Zetteltheater Mainz in 1995 and the Theater Konstanz in 1996, she appeared at the Zeitz Theater in 1998 and in Austria at the Linz State Theater . Then she went to Frankfurt am Main , where she played at the Theaterhaus Frankfurt and the Theater Grüne Soße. Her first long-term engagement was at the Nordhausen Theater , where she played Eve in "The Broken Krug" by Heinrich von Kleist between 2000 and 2002 . From 2003 to 2010 she was part of the ensemble of the Landestheater Coburg . Here she appeared as Johanna in Friedrich Schiller's "The Maiden of Orleans", as Juliet in Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet" and as Katherina in Shakespeare's "The Taming of the Unruly". During this time in Coburg she developed her friendship with the author Sabine Friedrich , who dedicated her novel "Immerwahr" to Anja Lenßen, a story about the German chemist Clara Immerwahr . Together with her, Friedrich developed the play "Immerwahr - play for a woman in twelve roles", based on the novel, in which Anja Lenßen herself played all twelve roles in 2007 under the direction of Sven Ruppert. After a brief guest performance at Theater Lüneburg , she has been a permanent member of the Meiningen State Theater since the 2011 season . Here she appeared as Alcmene in Heinrich von Kleist's "Amphitryon" and in the title roles of "Iphigenie auf Tauris" by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe and "Phädra" by Jean Racine. After an interruption due to her parental leave, Anja Lenßen has been back on stage in Meiningen since March 2018.

Movie and TV

In 2016, Anja Lenßen played the role of sister Agnes in an episode of the television series In All Friendship - The Young Doctors (Season 2, Episode 22) at the side of Marijam Agischewa and Katharina Nesytowa . In the same year she had a role in the short film "Bagage" by the Berlin director and screenwriter Polina Horosina, at the side of Uwe Preuss .

Musical projects

In addition to the pure stage acting, Anja Lenßen appears again and again with musical projects. She appears with her own tango formation in which she sings and recites. In addition, she has appeared as a singer, keyboardist and accordion player in changing band and chanson programs. Her recital " Hildegard Knef - Eine Femmage", which she developed with her pianist Jan Reinelt and the director Anne Spaeter, has already been presented several times across the region.
