Anja Siegemund

Anja Siegemund (* 1967 ) is a German historian and director of the New Synagogue Berlin Foundation - Centrum Judaicum .

Life

Siegemund completed her studies in Munich , Münster and Jerusalem and received her doctorate. She worked in the Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site and in the House of the Wannsee Conference, and since 2009 has headed the Leo Baeck Institute Jerusalem for six years .

Her research focuses on German and Central European Zionism and its protagonists, the history of Central European migration to Palestine and Israel, and the history of German Jews and cultures of remembrance in Germany and Israel.
