Anja Tippner

Anja Tippner (* 1963 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German Slavist and professor of Slavic literature at the University of Hamburg . Her main research interests are in Russian, Czech and Polish literature.

Life

After studying Slavic, German and English in Frankfurt a. M., Hamburg and Leningrad, Anja Tippner accepted the position of lecturer for German as a Foreign Language (1990–1992) at the Charles University in Prague. In 1995 she did her doctorate at the University of Hamburg. From 1995 to 2006 she worked as a research assistant and senior assistant at the Institute for Slavic Studies at the Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel and during this time, in 2002, she completed her habilitation. From 2006 to 2011, Tippner was Professor of Slavic Literature at the Paris-Lodron University in Salzburg . During the summer semester of 2014, she was Writer in Residence at the Jordan Center for the Advanced Study of Russia at New York University . Since 2011 she has been Professor of Slavic Literature at the University of Hamburg.
