Anke Gebert

Anke Gebert (born April 16, 1960 in Halle / Saale ) is a German author.

Life

Anke Gebert is the author of novels and narrative non-fiction books (including biographies), she occasionally writes scripts and gives seminars for fictional and biographical writing. She worked in various professions, studied at the German Literature Institute in Leipzig and at the Hamburg Media School (focus on screenwriting). In 1995 she published her first novel Dogs That Bark . After that, she published about twenty books. Anke Gebert lives in Hamburg, is married and has a grown son.

Training
  • 1976–1980: Studies at the Institute for Teacher Training in Dömitz
  • 1984–1987: Studies at the German Institute for Literature in Leipzig
  • 1989–1994: Studied German and journalism at the University of Hamburg
  • 1994–1996: Postgraduate course in film (specializing in screenplay) at the Media School Hamburg
