Connection without connecting cable

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A connection without cable (also virtual connection ) allows the telephone network , the allocation of a phone number in a local area network , without that there is a terminal to the local loop must be connected. This is a virtual telephone connection implemented in the network node .

Depending on the type of use, there is an analogy to a mailbox company in which the clear assignment between addressing and destination is also canceled. In Germany , according to the requirements of the Federal Network Agency, there must be a clear local network reference of local network numbers, which is why the connection without a connection line is mainly used when individual branches are relocated. In 2006, the Federal Network Agency further specified the local network reference feature in the allocation rules for local network numbers and subsequently prohibited Deutsche Telekom AG's "T-Net on-site" product.

Similar functionality without conventional circuit-switched fixed network technology is available via VoIP connections and cellular connections with home areas .
