Apprenticeship

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In Germany, semi-skilled occupation is the name given to the occupational function of an auxiliary worker , i.e. occupations that can be exercised after a short in-house training - no regular vocational training , no vocational school . These are primarily activities that do not require any special qualifications . In this context, the term unskilled worker or temporary worker is often used .

Apprenticeships are often not very well regarded as they are viewed in society as “low” work. Without numerous apprenticeships, however, large parts of the economy would not be efficient. In many areas, the semi-skilled workers qualify over time to become skilled employees (especially in construction and agriculture ) who are on a par with their colleagues with appropriate professional training ( skilled workers ). Employees in semi-skilled trades are generally paid less than trained skilled workers. Therefore, in -service training is an important aspect of social support.
