To turn on
Turn on stands for:
- Colloquially for to switch on or to switch on ( lamp , device etc.), also for light up ( fire ),
- Colloquially for attaching (signs, pictures, etc.) or attaching ( curtains , etc.),
- in the sense of touch as the mixing of individual components to a ready-made product, for. B. Mortar by adding water (outdated: mixing water ),
- In the same sense of mixing, this includes a form of preparation ( marinating salad ).
- Colloquially positively connoted for establishing contact, see Flirt ,
- but also has a negative colloquial connotation for a form of sexual harassment ,
- as well as generally colloquial negative a form of (persistent) harassment or annoyance (making people stupid )
- or to have had an argument .
- Colloquially, it also stands for animating the audience to participate .
- It is also used loosely as a synonym for someone / finding something attractive .
