Ann Ormonde

Ann Ormonde (born January 20, 1935 in Kilmacthomas , County Waterford ) is an Irish politician of the Fianna Fáil .

Ormonde graduated from University College Dublin with a Masters of Arts degree in Psychology, a Bachelor of Commerce, a Higher Diploma of Education and a Diploma in Career Counseling . After completing her studies, she worked as a career counselor.

In 1985 Ormonde was elected to Dublin County Council for the Fianna Fáil in the Rathfarnham constituency. They were re-elected in 1991 and 1999. After the dissolution of the Dublin County Council in 1994, it now belonged to the South Dublin County Council . She was also a member of the General Council of County Councils .

In 1987, 1989, 1992 and 1997 she ran in the elections for Dáil Éireann for her party in the constituency of Dublin South . However, she never managed to win a mandate. Instead, Ormonde was elected to the Seanad Éireann in 1993 .
