Anna Bravo

Anna Bravo (* 1938 in Turin ; † December 8, 2019 ibid) was an Italian historian, university lecturer, feminist and writer.

Life

Anna Bravo became known as a historian and writer on social history, the nature of war and women's history. She worked as a lecturer in social history at the University of Turin . In her writings, she dealt with, among other things, the position of women in war history and in 20th century politics, the social impact of the 1968 movement and the possibilities of a non-violent culture .

She devoted her political activity as an activist first to the Italian Communist Party and later to the anarchist Provo movement and the left-wing Lotta Continua .

In 2018 Anna Bravo received the Italian Prize for Nonviolence Premio Nazionale Nonviolenza .
