Anna Herrmann (politician)

Anna Herrmann (born November 15, 1892 in Herzogenaurach ; † 1980 ) was a German politician ( SPD ) in Herzogenaurach.

Life

Anna Herrmann was born Anna Peetz in Herzogenaurach in 1892. Her father ran a cloth factory on the Aurach. In 1913 Anna married the upholsterer Georg Herrmann. Together with her husband, she ran the “Volkshaus”, which was used as a restaurant and hall for the labor movement.

In 1946 she ran for the SPD and was elected to the city council. She was able to repeat this success five times by 1966. In 1956 she was elected to the district council of the former district of Höchstadt an der Aisch . From 1961 to 1966 she was second mayor in Herzogenaurach.
