Anna Maria Bottini (born March 24, 1916 in Milan - † August 9, 2020 ) was an Italian actress .

Life

The tall, slim Bottini began her film career in 1938 when she first demonstrated her lively expressiveness in I figli del marchese Lucera . World War II soon interrupted their ambitions; after its end, she first played theater, where she was rarely challenged in character roles that were always similar. Seldom entrusted with a leading role, she was involved in Luchino Visconti's Veglia la mia casa, Angelo 1958. In the film industry, too, their abilities were used from time to time, again only in supporting roles, in which Bottini could deliver both aggressive and witty portrayals. Two films stand out: Jules Dassin's Where the Hot Wind blows in 1958 and Visconti's The Leopard five years later. Occasionally Bottini also accepted television offers. After 1977 she only appeared on the theater stage.
