Anna Mieszkowska (* 1958 in Warsaw ) is a Polish theater scholar and journalist . In her book The Mother of the Holocaust Children she tells the true story of the Polish social worker Irena Sendler , who saved 2,500 Jewish children from death during the Nazi regime . She has worked as an archivist at the Polish Academy of Sciences since 2006
