Anna Schürch

Anna Schürch (* 1975 in Burgdorf BE ) is a Swiss art scholar , teacher of visual design and art educator.

Career

After her general university entrance qualification, Anna Schürch completed a preliminary course at the School of Design in Bern . She then studied to become a teacher of fine arts (LbK) at the University of Art and Design (HGK) in Basel , where she graduated in 2000 and worked as an LbK assistant for five years. In 2005 she became a research assistant in research projects at the HGK Basel. In the 2005/06 academic year she was also a lecturer in the field of contextual knowledge . At the end of 2006 she moved to the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK) as a research assistant, in the department of cultural analysis and communication .

She is a founding member of the Swiss Society for Art Education, founded in 2015 and based in Basel, and is a member of the board. In autumn 2008 she started at the Institute for Art Education of the ZHdK in the fields of art history and subject didactics . In 2019 she completed her doctoral studies at the University of Applied Arts Vienna with a dissertation entitled The Training of Drawing Teachers. A study of the history of institutions and the history of discourse on art education in Switzerland in the 20th century . Since 2019, Anna Schürch has been a member of the core team for the realignment of Art Education research and is responsible for the research focus «Art Education Knowledge».

In addition, she was on the board of Kaskadenkondensator Basel for many years and accompanied a number of projects for current art and performance from 2003 to 2005/06. In 2007 she also worked as a freelancer in the documenta 12 team in Kassel. She is also the co-editor of SFKP e Journal Art Education Research .
