Annamarie Jagose
Annamarie Rustom Jagose (* 1965 in Ashburton ) is a New Zealand author and associate professor in the media studies department ("Film, Television and Media Studies") at the University of Auckland .
Life
Jagose taught feminist theory and gay and lesbian studies after her PhD at Victoria University in Wellington and from 1992 to 2003 at Melbourne University . From 2003 to 2011 she was co-editor of the journal GLQ: A Journal of Lesbian and Gay Studies at Duke University Press in Durham , North Carolina and since 2011 she has led the School of Letters, Art and Media at the University of Sydney .
Work
In addition to numerous scientific publications, she has published the novel In Translation , for which she was awarded the “Prize for the best literary debut” in 1994 by the PEN .
In 1996 she published her book on queer theory , which has meanwhile become a standard work .
