Anne Basting

Anne Davis Basting (* 1965 ) is an American gerontologist.

Live and act

Basting earned an MA in Theater Studies from the University of Wisconsin , and then a PhD in Theater Arts from the University of Minnesota . Bastings developed TimeSlips , a creative story- making for people with dementia and for people with disabilities. By stimulating their imagination, the participants should be given memories in a playful way. In 1998 she founded the international not-for-profit organization TimeSlips. She is Professor of Theater Studies at the Peck School of the Arts at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee. In 2016 she received a "Genius" grant from the MacArthur Foundation.
