Anne Carr

Anne Carr (* 1934 ; † February 11, 2008 ) was an American religious sister , theologian and university teacher .

Life

Carr studied Roman Catholic theology at Mundelein College in Chicago and at Marquette University .

In 1958 she joined the congregation of the Sisters of Charity of the Blessed Virgin Mary and took the religious name Mary Ann David . She wrote her dissertation in 1971 at the Divinity School of the University of Chicago on the German theologian Karl Rahner . From 1975 she taught Catholic theology at the University of Chicago Divinity School . In 1984 she was a signatory to the A Catholic Statement on Pluralism and Abortion campaign .
