Anne Momper

Anne Momper is the wife of the German politician Walter Momper . During his tenure as Governing Mayor from 1989 to 1991, she was the “ First Lady ” of Berlin .

Momper works for people with HIV / AIDS . In June 1990 she gained nationwide attention when she went swimming with her daughter and people who were HIV-positive or suffering from AIDS, in order to set an example against discrimination and exclusion. She is co-founder and, from the beginning, chairwoman of the board of trustees of the housing project “Home in the Kiez” (ZIK), in which those affected by the disease find sheltered accommodation.

In 2016 she received the second HIV Awareness Award from Berliner Aids-Hilfe for her social commitment .
