Hansgünther Adam

Hansgünther Adam (born January 13, 1924 , † January 31, 2015 in Lebach ) was a German journalist .

Career

Adam came from Walpershofen in the Köllertal . In field handball , Adam made it to the Saarland selection as a goalkeeper . As a journalist he worked for the Saarbrücker Zeitung (SZ) for 40 years , at the end of 1987 he retired as deputy editor-in-chief of the SZ. As a sports editor, Adam reported on the 1952 Summer Olympics , the Tour de France and the “heyday” of 1. FC Saarbrücken in the 1950s, using the editorial abbreviation “Hagü” . The Saar Statute from 1955 advocated Adam, unlike the majority of the Saarland population.

In March 1985 he was awarded the Saarland Order of Merit . Adam died a few weeks after his 91st birthday in a retirement home in Lebach . He left behind his wife and two children.
