Anneke Prize
The Anneke Prize has been awarded since 2010 by the North Rhine-Westphalian cities of Sprockhövel and Hattingen for “outstanding services in the field of women's rights”.
The award is named after the women's rights activist and writer Mathilde Franziska Anneke . The first award was based on the joint activities of the cities as part of RUHR.2010 , during which a so-called "Anneke ride" was organized by Sprockhövel past Mathilde Franziska Anneke's birthplace to Hattingen-Blankenstein.
The Anneke Prize is endowed with a cash prize of 1,000 euros and a work of art; Individuals or associations who “have particularly campaigned for women's rights” are eligible as award winners. Involvement in educational policy, social or integration areas comes into question. The right to make proposals lies with the municipal equality or women's offices in North Rhine-Westphalia, to which proposals from citizens can be submitted and which then each report a proposal to the jury.
