Annelise Vömel

Annelise Vömel (born November 10, 1924 in Bad Homburg vor der Höhe , † November 25, 1991 in Selters / Limburg-Weilburg district ) was a German crop scientist . Her research focus was on the fields of medicinal and aromatic plant cultivation .

Life

Annelise Vömel studied agricultural science in Giessen from 1947 to 1950 . After completing her diploma, she became head of the Rauischholzhausen vascular testing station at the Institute for Plant Cultivation and Plant Breeding at the University of Giessen . In 1955 she did her doctorate with a thesis on the yield formation of lupins . She stayed in Gießen and in the following years dealt with issues of nutrient shift in arable land. With the results of her experiments in lysimeters , she completed her habilitation in 1968. She received the Venia legendi for the fields of plant cultivation and plant breeding . In 1971 she was appointed professor. Since then she has devoted herself to the cultivation of medicinal and aromatic plants. She has firmly established this teaching and research area at the University of Giessen.
