Life

Annette Biemer, b. 1966, grew up in the Hessian Ulmtal. Today she lives with her husband in the district town of Wetzlar, where she runs the text and culture workshop expressively. Her work as an author and copywriter is at the center of her work. She is also closely associated with Theater Pikante from Lollar and was a co-founder of the artist agency piRi piRi.

Content of the works

The regional reference plays a major role in all of her books. It mainly affects your home region of Central Hesse with all the peculiarities of its residents. Your first thriller "Brückenschlag" is set directly in Wetzlar. In him, a retired chief detective investigates on his own initiative in a series of murders. In Stille Post (2005) the seemingly idyllic, peaceful village life is the background for the explorations of a postwoman playing a detective . In the crime novel Damage Case, which was published at the same time, the co-owner of a car repair shop becomes an investigator on her own behalf due to a misunderstanding.

Over the years she expanded the regional focus. In addition to crime novels, there were also crime fiction anthologies and two children's books, which were realized in collaboration with an illustrator and one of which was also published as an audio book. Together with an Icelandic woman, they created a cookbook and three eBooks about western Iceland. In addition, she supervised the creation of a volume with readers' stories and contributed to creative books.

particularities

In most of her crime stories, Annette Biemer gets along without much violence or killing. The novels are not about plot and action, but above all dialogue and empathy-oriented. Situation comedy is also a stylistic device.
