Annette Burger

Annette Burger (born in the 20th century ) is a former German disabled athlete.

Career

Annette Burger is severely disabled. Nevertheless, she wanted to do competitive sports. As a sport she chose athletics , which she practiced in the short running distances over 100 m, 200 m and over 400 m and in the long jump. Because she performed excellently, she was appointed to the German athletics team for the disabled. With this team she took part in the 1992 Paralympic Summer Games in Barcelona . In the performance group B1 she won a silver medal in the long jump as the runner-up.

She also took part with the German team at the World Athletics Championships for the disabled in 1994 . She was eighth in the 100 m run and tenth in the 200 m. The highlight was then a first place and thus winning a gold medal with the 4x400 m relay with the line-up Annette Burger, Kerstin Quinius , Daniela Salzmann and Claudia Meier . In addition, she was third in the long jump with 4.15 m and winner of a bronze medal.

For winning a medal at the Paralympic Summer Games in 1992, she was awarded the silver laurel leaf on June 13, 1993 by Federal President Richard von Weizsäcker .
