Annette Döbrich

Annette Döbrich (born November 3, 1949 in Würzburg ) is a German writer. She mainly writes detective novels and stories.

Life

Annette Döbrich initially worked as a bookseller. She has been working as a freelance writer since 1995. That year her first work, the detective novel "Am Abgrund der Träume", was published by Rororo . An excerpt from it was awarded the Literature Prize of the City of Munich. Four more detective novels as well as crime stories followed at annual intervals. Döbrich has also published poetry and essays. Her short story “Model Venus” from the anthology “Ten Murderous Paths to Happiness” won the 2000 Marlowe Literature Prize of the Raymond Chandler Society. In 2001 the screenplay for her fifth novel "Die Last der Engel" (1999) was published by the FilmFernsehFonds Bayernpromoted. In the same year “Am Abgrund der Träume” appeared in a new edition. The novel “The Last of the Angels” was translated into Dutch in 2003 under the title “Angels pulled”.

Annette Döbrich lives in Munich. She is married to Church Councilor Wolfgang Döbrich, former Latin America representative of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bavaria . With him she founded the “Annette and Wolfgang Döbrich Foundation for the Education of Children and Young People in Central America” in 2007. They have three grown children.
