Annual Review of Environment and Resources is an annual peer review journal published by Annual Reviews since 1976 . The journal was founded in 1976 under the name Annual Review of Energy , and in 1991 it was renamed Annual Review of Energy and the Environment . Since 2003 it has been operating under the title Annual Review of Environment and Resources .
In terms of content, the journal deals with ecological issues from the point of view of environmental sciences and environmental engineering , in particular the handling of water and energy resources , resource management and global change, as well as research into the oceans , the atmosphere and climate change .
The impact factor in 2016 was 6.268, the five-year impact factor was 8.875. This placed the journal in 10th place out of 229 journals in the environmental sciences category for the two-year Impact Factor .
