Anser Island is an uninhabited island in the Australian state of Victoria . It is 2.1 kilometers from mainland Australia at Southwest Point , a headland of the Wilsons Promontory . It is also a good 3.8 km west of South Point (Australia) , the southernmost point of mainland Australia.
The island is 1.7 kilometers long, 860 meters wide and 152 meters high. Neighboring islands are 2.4 km southwest of Cleft Island , 2.3 km east of Wattle Island and 1.1 km southwest of Kanowna Island .
