Antóninho Baptista Alves
Antóninho Baptista Alves (fighting name Hamar ) is a former resistance fighter, museum director and politician from East Timor .
Career
In his youth, Hamar was a resistance fighter against the occupation by Indonesia . From 1994 to 1999 he was political assistant in the command of resistance region IV. Hamar worked as a courier for the FALINTIL boss Nino Konis Santana .
From July 2003 to December 2005 he was Vice-Coordinator of the Veterans Affairs Commission. Hamar has been director of the Timorese Resistance Archives & Museum (AMRT) since 2006 , succeeding José Agostinho Sequeira .
From 2004 to 2007 Hamar studied social sciences at the Universidade da Paz (UNPAZ).
Hamar has been General Secretary of the Partido Esperança da Pátria (PEP) since 2017 .
