The Partido Esperança da Pátria PEP ( German  Party Hope of the Fatherland ) is a political party in East Timor. It was recognized by the Tribunal de Recurso de Timor-Leste on February 3, 2017 . The party sees itself as a representative of the country's young generation. The country's major parties are largely dominated by the generation of resistance fighters against the Indonesian occupation (1975–1999).

The president is Manuel Higino Gusmão , the younger brother of Xanana Gusmão . The general secretary is Antóninho Hamar Batista Alves , the director and president of the Archive & Museum of the Timorese Resistance (AMRT) . The youth organization is called Organizasaun Juventude Nasional Partido Esperanca da Patria (OJNPEP).

The PEP ran for the first time in the parliamentary elections in East Timor in 2017 . In the previous presidential elections in 2017 , the PEP supported the eventual election winner Francisco Lú-Olo Guterres , the FRETILIN candidate. In the 2017 parliamentary elections, the PEP received 6,775 votes (1.19%) and failed to pass the four percent hurdle. Likewise in the early elections in 2018 with 5,060 votes (0.8%).
