AntennaPod is an open-source - podcatcher for Android . The app was first published on July 22, 2012 as version 0.8 and is under the MIT license . It is both in PlayStore from Google , as well as F-Droid available archive. The application does not require any Google Play services to run .

The download numbers for apps in F-Droid are not determined, so no statement can be made about this. AntennaPod appears in several comparative tests with podcast apps, often highlighting the openness of the source and the associated freedom from advertising.
