The Antilles niger ( Quiscalus niger ) is a bird and belongs to the starch family (Icteridae).
It inhabits the vegetation on the coasts and near swamps in the Greater Antilles , such as Puerto Rico , Cuba , Dominican Republic , and the Cayman Islands .
The plumage of the Antillean grackel is uniformly black with light yellow eyes. Like all Grackeln, it has long legs with strong claws, a long black strong beak and a long fan-like keel-shaped tail. The females are smaller than the males. They feed on berries, insects and other invertebrates .
