Antimachus of Teos
Antimachus of Teos was an epic poet in ancient Greece .
His works are known only from two or three quotes from later writers. According to Plutarch ( Romulus 12, 2), Antimachus mentioned a solar eclipse that occurred in the 3rd year of the 6th Olympiad ( 754 BC ). That would make him a contemporary of Homer and would be one of the earliest epic poets.
