In the realm of the ants there is great excitement when the queen's magic ball suddenly disappears. If she does not appear again, the grandfather will lose his job. Anton and his friends find the ball in an old forest , where a witch conjures up weevils to bring them among the ants. But then Anton defends himself.

The series was produced between 1998 and 1999 in Canadian-British production.

The German first broadcast took place on April 29, 2000 on ZDF on Tabaluga tivi . Further broadcasts also took place on KiKA .
