Anton Becker (born May 19, 1907 in Bochum ; † September 30, 1963 there ) was a German politician ( CDU ). From 1955 to 1963 he was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia .

Life

After elementary school , Anton Becker began training as a lathe operator in 1921 and worked in this profession from 1925 to 1946. Between 1928 and 1930 he also attended the technical college for business and administration in Bochum. After the Second World War, Becker first worked as a mediator at the Bochum employment office, then from 1952 to 1952 as managing director of the Textile Clothing Union in Herne .

Becker had joined the Center Party in 1928 , having previously become a member of the Christian Metalworkers ' Association. After the war, he joined the CDU and was again involved in trade unions. In 1953 Becker became district chairman of the CDU Bochum.

Becker became a city councilor in 1948 and was chairman of the CDU parliamentary group in Bochum's city ​​council from 1952 to 1958 . He was also a member of the Broadcasting Council of West German Broadcasting .

During the third electoral term on March 12, 1955, Becker moved up to the North Rhine-Westphalian state parliament via his party's reserve list. In the fourth and fifth state parliament electoral periods, he made it straight to parliament via the state list. From October 7, 1958 he was deputy chairman of the CDU parliamentary group. Becker was a member of the state parliament until his death on September 30, 1963.
