from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Anton Deiser (born August 18, 1872 in St. Georgen an der Mattig, municipality of Burgkirchen (Upper Austria) ; † September 23, 1955 in Burgkirchen) was a farmer, innkeeper and politician.

In 1907 Deiser sold his parents' farm and bought an inn in Burgkirchen. He was an enthusiastic functionary of the Landbund and later heavily involved in the Home Guard. For many years he was a member of the Burgkirchen municipal council and from 1928 to 1934 a member of the Upper Austrian state parliament . He was a combative man who, among other things, carried out his political quarrels in the state parliament and sometimes even did not shy away from going to court.

Deiser was a versatile man, also open to art; in his songs and poems he sang about his homeland and its inhabitants. He was an honorary citizen of the Burgkirchen community, and a memorial plaque is attached to his inn.
