Anton Doppler

Anton Doppler (born December 15, 1956 in Sankt Jakob im Walde ) is an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and a former member of the Austrian National Council .

education and profession

Anton Doppler was born as the fourth child of a mountain farming family. He attended elementary and secondary school from 1963 to 1971 and, after completing the polytechnic course in 1971/72, completed an apprenticeship as a retail salesman, which he finished in 1975 with a vocational school certificate in Bad Radkersburg . In 1976 he did military service.

Doppler then worked as a municipal employee in the municipality of Sankt Jakob im Walde in the sovereign administration between 1976 and 1986 and has been an insurance employee and sales representative for Grazer Wechselseiten Versicherung since 1986 .

politics

Anton Doppler was municipal councilor in St. Jakob im Walde between 1985 and 1987 and then deputy mayor until 1995. In 1995 he was elected mayor of the municipality. In addition, Doppler is chamber councilor of the Styrian Chamber of Labor and ÖAAB district chairman.

Doppler moved into the National Council on May 5, 2004 for the deceased National Councilor Josef Trinkl and represented the ÖVP there until October 29, 2006. In the 2006 National Council election , however, he failed to get back into parliament.

Private

Doppler is married and has two children.
