Anton Eickmeier

Anton Eickmeier (born April 4, 1912 in Münster , † October 10, 1955 in Delmenhorst ) was a German politician ( CDU ).

Eickmeier was a trained locksmith. He worked in various positions and did his labor service between 1933 and 1934. He then worked as a locksmith at St. Josef-Stift in Delmenhorst , then at Weser-Flugzeugbau Delmenhorst. He had been a member of the Kolping Family since 1930 . From 1935 to 1945 he was a senior in the local Kolping Family; During the same period he was also a volunteer football specialist in the Reichsbund for physical exercises . Shortly before the end of the war, Eickmeier was drafted into the Wehrmacht and was taken prisoner. After release from captivity until October 1945 he was obliged to serve in the military government.

He joined the CDU after the Second World War and was involved in social policy. From December 9, 1946 to March 28, 1947, he was a member of the appointed Lower Saxony State Parliament and then moved into the first freely elected Lower Saxony State Parliament on April 20, 1947, which he held until April 30, 1951 during the first electoral period and between May 6, 1955 and his death in October 1955 during the third electoral term. From 1955 until his death on October 10, 1955, he was again a member of the state parliament of the DP / CDU parliamentary group. In 1951/52 he served as mayor and from April 1955 until his death as mayor of the city of Delmenhorst.
