Anton Germanowitsch Siluanow ( Russian Антон Германович Силуанов ; born April 12, 1963 in Moscow ) is a Russian economist and politician. Since December 2011 he has been Minister of Finance in the Government of the Russian Federation .

In 1985 Siluanov graduated from the Moscow Financial Institute with a degree in economics , specializing in “Finance and Credit”, and obtained his doctorate in 1994. oec. publ. (кандидат экономических наук, "candidate of economic sciences"). After his military service from 1986 to 1987, he worked in the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation, where he soon took over management positions. Among other things, he was the deputy head of the budget department for several years.

Since July 2003, Siluanov was Deputy Minister of Finance and in this capacity was responsible for budget control and the allocation of government funds to the 83 federal subjects.

After the resignation of Alexei Kudrin , Siluanov was initially acting finance minister in September 2011. On December 16, 2011, he was officially appointed to the ministerial office by President Medvedev . At the same time, Siluanov was also appointed a member of the Security Council of the Russian Federation .

In January 2015, he was seconded by the Russian government to serve on the Sberbank Supervisory Board .

Family and private

Anton Siluanow is married and has a son named Gleb (* 1999).

Siluanov's father, German Siluanow , worked for the Soviet and until 1996 for the Russian Ministry of Finance.
