Security Council of the Russian Federation

The Security Council of the Russian Federation ( Russian Совет Безопасности Российской Федерации Soviet Bezopasnosti Rossiiskoi Federacii ; English Security Council of the Russian Federation , SCRF ) is a body of the most important politicians in Russia for joint decision-making.

Originally, the Security Council was created in 1992 by then Russian President Boris Yeltsin by decree to advise the head of state on questions of internal and external security policy. Today article 83 of the Constitution of Russia decrees: "The President of the Russian Federation [...] forms and heads the Security Council of the Russian Federation, the status of which is determined by federal law".
