Anton Kner

Anton Kner (born November 4, 1911 in Dächingen ; † August 2, 2003 in Untermarchtal ) was a German Roman Catholic theologian and spiritual writer.

Kner was born the seventh of thirteen children. From 1918 to 1922 he attended elementary school in Dächingen, from 1922 to 1930 the humanistic high school in Ehingen (Danube) . From 1930 to 1934 he studied philosophy and theology at the University of Tübingen . On April 6, 1935, he was ordained a priest by Bishop Joannes Baptista Sproll . From 1935 to 1976 he was a parish pastor in Ludwigsburg, Stuttgart, Leonberg and Ulm. Since 1959 he has been leading retreat courses and days of reflection. From 1976 to 1988 he was a pastor in the psychiatric clinic Vinzenz-von-Paul-Hospital in Rottweil -Rottenmünster. Since 1988 he has been a retiree and spiritual teacher in the nursing home for the good shepherd in Untermarchtal.
