Anton Mattle (born March 10, 1963 in Zams ) is an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ). He has been a member of the Tyrolean state parliament since 2003 and the first vice- president of the state parliament since May 24, 2013.

Education and politics

Anton Mattle was born on March 10, 1963, the second of four children and grew up on his parents' farm in Galtür . He attended elementary school in Galtür from 1969 to 1973 and then switched to Kappl secondary school . In 1977/78 Mattle attended the Imst agricultural college . After compulsory school, Mattle began an apprenticeship as an electrician, which he completed in 1982 with the final apprenticeship examination. After graduating from the master craftsman's school for electrical engineering in Innsbruck (1984), Mattle passed the final apprenticeship examination for radio and television technicians in 1987. In 1989 the training was completed with the master's examination for radio and television technicians.

After completing his apprenticeship, Mattle worked as an electrician and electrician. Between 1985 and 1991 he worked as a master electrical engineer and founded Elektro Mattle in 1991. He has eight employees.

politics

In 1986, Anton Mattle joined the Galtür municipal council as a 23-year-old functionary for young farmers with the list of rural youth and farmers. Until 1992 he was the deputy mayor of Galtür. Since 1992 he has been mayor. In 2003 he was elected district chairman of the Landeck district. On October 21, 2003 Mattle entered the Tyrolean state parliament as the leading candidate for the Tyrolean People's Party for the Landeck district. In the state elections in 2008 and 2013 Mattle was able to repeat his success. In the state elections on February 25, 2018, Mattle, as the ÖVP's top candidate for the Landeck district, achieved the best constituency result of his party in Tyrol with almost 64% of the vote. Mattle's political work was honored with 8012 preferential votes. That was the best preferential vote result of all candidates.

On May 24, 2013 Mattle was elected Vice-President of the Tyrolean Parliament for the first time, and on March 28, 2018 he was confirmed in his function. With 35 out of 36 possible votes, Mattle received high approval across all parties in the election of the first Vice President of the Tyrolean Parliament.

Private

Mattle is married and has three children.
