Antonietta De Lillo (born March 6, 1960 in Naples ) is an Italian director .

Life

De Lillo worked for publications such as Il Corriere di Napoli , Napoli Oggi , Gente and L'Espresso as a journalist and photographer and turned to film after graduating from the “Discipline delle Arti, della Musica e dello Spettacolo” ( DAMS ) in Bologna . From 1982 to 1984 she worked as a camera assistant for television and tourism films. In 1985 she founded the production company “Angio Film” with Giorgio Magliulo, who also came from Naples , with which she produced and directed her first feature film the following year. Una casa in bilico was a small success and well received by the critics, as was the ironic comedy Matilda , which was made three years later and which also received the jury award at the Annecy Film Festival .

In addition, De Lillo worked again and again as a documentarist; some of these works were also awarded. The 1995 film Racconti di Vittoria mixed episodes of documentary, theatrical staging and literature and was not geared towards the masses. Her films made in the new millennium were again successful, especially Il resto de niente from 2004, which, like its predecessor Non è giusto , was nominated for a Nastro d'Argento .
