Antonino Vadalà

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Antonino Vadalà is an Italian businessman. He runs several agricultural companies in Slovakia .

Vadalà was investigated in Italy. He was charged with criminal offenses related to Mafia structures in 2003 . According to an Italian court, he is said to have traveled to Rome with two other men to “punish” an unknown person who “harmed the clan”. Vadalà did not wait for the verdict to be pronounced in Italy and left for Slovakia. There he began to support the party of incumbent Prime Minister Robert Fico and cooperated with Fico's assistant Mária Trošková . In August 2011 Vadalà and Trošková founded the company GIA Management .

According to Die Welt , Vadalà in Slovakia is involved in "a wide variety of obscure endeavors, from farms to biogas plants ". There was plenty of evidence to suggest that Vadalà is related to the 'Ndrangheta . In various legal proceedings in the 2010s, Vadalà had to answer for, among other things, illegal possession of weapons and suspected fraudulent speculation and VAT fraud. According to Die Welt, there are indications that Vadalà's companies were involved in agricultural subsidy fraud and money laundering .

The journalist Ján Kuciak researched these connections. In March 2018, the Slovak police arrested Vadalà, whom they had arrested shortly after the double murder of Kuciak and his girlfriend and then released. The basis this time is a European arrest warrant . He was accused of drug trafficking and organized crime.
