Mária Trošková

Mária Trošková (born April 26, 1987 in Púchov ) is a Slovak entrepreneur , model and former assistant to the Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico .

Life

In 2007 Trošková reached the final of the Slovak Miss Universe elections. She was initially the assistant to the politician and entrepreneur Pavol Rusko from the Aliancia nového občana party .

Robert Fico appointed the politically inexperienced Trošková as his personal assistant on March 1, 2015. After her appointment, Fico's press department refused to provide a description of her duties, her position in government or any information about a security clearance of her.

The journalist Ján Kuciak , who was murdered in 2018 , as part of a team of reporters, revealed that Trošková had been the business partner of the Italian Antonino Vadalà since 2011 . Vadalà lives in Slovakia and has a network of agricultural companies in the east of the country. He is said to have had contacts with the Italian Mafia . Trošková and Vadalà jointly founded the company GIA Management in 2011 , which, according to them, has business areas in the real estate and construction industry as well as in the packaging industry and photography. According to a Slovak press report, both had private contact.

Mária Trošková resigned from her position as Fico's assistant until Kuciak's murder was investigated. After the allegations became known, Prime Minister Fico defended his former advisor Trošková. He said innocent people have been linked to double homicide , according to SME newspaper .
