Antonio Arguedas Mendieta

Antonio Arguedas Mendieta (born June 13, 1928 in La Paz ; † February 22, 2000 there ) was a Bolivian politician.

Life

From August 6, 1964 to 1969, he was Minister of the Interior in the dictatorship of René Barrientos Ortuño . In 1965 he became an informant for the Central Intelligence Agency . He came into possession of the hands, the mask and the diary of Che Guevara and in 1969 passed the evidence on to Víctor Zanier Valenzuela. The diary came to Havana via Santiago de Chile and Frankfurt .
