António Bento Bembe

António Bento Bembe (born April 24, 1950 in Cabinda ) is an Angolan politician of the Movimento Popular de Libertação de Angola (MPLA).

Life

António Bento Bembe completed a degree in business administration and completed his doctorate in this subject . He is General Secretary of the Front for the Liberation of the Cabinda Enclave FLEC ( Frente para a Libertação do Enclave de Cabinda ) and between 2005 and 2006 was an advisor to President José Eduardo dos Santos for affairs in the Province of Cabinda . From 2007 to 2010, he served in the cabinet of President José Eduardo dos Santos, initially as Minister without Portfolio (Ministro sem Pastas) and Commissioner for Human Rights, and then between 2010 and 2017 as State Secretary for Human Rights in the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights.

In the election on 23 August 2017 , Bembe was elected for the first time as a member of the National Assembly (Assembleia Nacional) on the list of the Movimento Popular de Libertação de Angola (MPLA) . Since September 28, 2017 he has been First Secretary of the 10th Parliamentary Commission (10ª Comissão Direitos Humanos, Petições Reclamações e Sugestões dos Cidadãos) , which is responsible for human rights, citizen complaints and suggestions from citizens.
