Lotte Søgaard-Andersen
Lotte Søgaard-Andersen (born March 14, 1959 in Holbaek , Denmark ) is a Danish molecular geneticist and director at the Max Planck Institute for Terrestrial Microbiology in Marburg .
Life
Søgaard-Andersen studied medicine at the University of Odense and graduated in 1988. After a research stay at the Pasteur Institute in Paris , she received her PhD in molecular biology from the University of Odense in 1991, where she was appointed Assistant Professor in 1992 . From 1994 to 1996, Søgaard-Andersen was a visiting scholar at Stanford University before returning to Odense, where she was initially an assistant professor and, in 2002, a professor at the University of Southern Denmark . In 2004 Søgaard-Andersen became director of the Max Planck Institute for Terrestrial Microbiology in Marburg . Since 2008 she has also been a professor at the Department of Biology at the Philipps University of Marburg .
