Antonis Fostieris ( Greek Αντώνης Φωστιέρης ; * 1951 in Athens ) is a Greek poet .

Life

Fostieris studied law in Athens and legal history in Paris. Since 1971 he has published eight volumes of poetry, many of which have already been translated into other languages. From 1974 to 1976 he brought out the magazine "Neue Poesie". In 1993 he was awarded the international "Kavafis Prize for Poetry", in 1998 with the Vrettakos Prize of the City of Athens, in 2004 with the State Prize for Poetry and in 2010 with the Poet Prize of the "Kostas and Eleni Ouranis Foundation" of the Athens Academy for his complete works excellent. In collaboration with Thanasis Niarchos, he published the season magazine “Poesie” from 1975 to 1981. He was the initiator and editor of the following anthologies: Contemporary love poetry (1987), Greek poets write about the sea (1997), and the volume with interviews: In Second Person (1990). Since 1981 he has been responsible for the literary magazine I Lexi (Das Wort).
