The Antonius-von-Padua-Kirche Birštonas is a Catholic neo-Gothic church in Birštonas in the deanery of Stakliškės in the diocese of Kaišiadorys , Lithuania on the right bank of the Nemunas .

history

In 1529 there was probably a first church, as Birštonas is mentioned in a document as a town. In 1609 the city ​​director was obliged to renew the church. In 1643 the village of Žydeikoniai was donated to the church . In 1655 the church burned down. In the 18th century there was a community school.

In 1900 the project of the church by the architect Vaclovas Michnevičius was confirmed. Pastor Jonas Karvelis built the church with the residents from 1900 to 1909. The architect of the building supervision was Edmundas Frykas .
