Antonius Architecctus
Antonius Architecctus was a Roman architect who worked in Dacia in the 2nd quarter of the 1st century .
It is only known from an inscription on a grave stele from Sucidava , which was erected for a signer of the Legio V Macedonica and which is now in the Archaeological Institute of the University of Bucharest . The classical archaeologist Michael Donderer suspects that Antonius Architecctus was a Roman legionnaire who worked as an architect in the army. The name Architecctus could have been a pseudo- gentile name that was given to him when he joined the Legion.
