List of apple varieties |
Antonowka , also Antonovka or Possarts Nalivia , is a random seedling from the Baltic States or Russia. The fruits ripen in September and are not very aromatic. However, the variety is frost hardy and resistant to scab . Antonowka is one of the few sources of resistance, after which the scab resistance Va (Ventuna antonovka) was named.
It is therefore used to breed new scab-resistant varieties. Examples are Reglindis or Angold .
